Volunteers In Integrative Medicine

Hospital Volunteers can now expand their service with the use of Integrative Medicine techniques. In 2008 we began the first Volunteer in Integrative Medicine Training Program.

Interested groups of Volunteers go through a teaching program at NorthEast Internal and Integrative Medicine to learn the applications of complementary therapies such as massage, aromatherapy, healing presence, relaxation and guided visualization.

These soothing modalities bring great comfort to the hospital patients undergoing chemotherapy at the Batte Cancer Center. The volunteers work under the guidance of the Holistic Nurse present in the Center, and are a blessing to those coming for chemotherapy.

Persons interested in becoming a volunteer and trained to provide specific integrative techniques for patients may contact Volunteer Services at 704-403-1376 to learn more.
